One of the first villains in the show is a villain who quirk allows him to transform him body into liquid, be immune to most physical attacks and he can take over people and use their quirks. This is an insanely powerful ability. I think every student from class 1a and 1b (that i know of) could pass the practical in some way.

There are many ways to 'beat' the robots and ways to get points outside of just beating them anyway. 1a has the future best hero, the son of the number 1 hero who was the result of a quirk marriage, and the highest scoring person on the practical exam who also won the sports festival. They werent meant to be the stronger class, other than for a storytelling perspective, but they clearly are stronger. In spite of all the odds stacked against them, they continue to grow, their personal experience molding them into heroes the public can count on.
