Leslie Winkle And The Conspiracy Theory Nobody's Talking About

Does anyone know why leslie winkle's character was written off the show? (only appeared twice after season 2) i assume it was to focus on penny (for leonard) but i've searched and can't find an answer so i'm curious if anything else happened behind the scenes. This will let her know if they are compatible.

Leslie, on the other hand, is to me the female equivalent of a neckbeard. She's focused entirely on what she wants and needs; And the people around her are basically accessories. I don't think she *could* get married, because she wouldn't want the commitment, for example.

In 2009, gilbert was quietly bumped off of the series' regular roster because the show's writers reportedly couldn't write for her, so they changed her status to recurring. Hes not talking to leslie, and he doesnt consider her pretty, so win/win. Penny asked that question earlier in the episode. They said he was able to talk in front of large groups, but couldnt directly address women.
