I thought the ten tails was underwhelming to what it originally was hyped up to be. In naruto, it's claimed that the ten tails is a unique phenomenon born from kaguya's will to reclaim her chakra from her sons mixed with the divine tree. In other words, kaguya + tree = ten tails. And no, i'm not referring to the kaguya filler arc. Long before the founding of the hidden villages, during an era of endless wars between mankind, the god tree, a tree revered as a deity, bore a chakra fruit once every thousand years.
